Critzer succeeds Edwards as EMS representative on Virginia Board of Health - On July 21 Governor Terry McAuliffe announced his selection of Director of the Department of Emergency Management and EMS for the City of Waynesboro and chair of the Virginia EMS Advisory Board, Gary P. Critzer, NRP, CCEMTP to serve a four-year term on the State Board of Health. Critizer replaces Bruce W. Edwards of Virginia Beach who served maximum terms as the first EMS representative to the Board of Health as well as its chair. The Virginia General Assembly created the EMS seat on the Board of Health in 2009.
Virginia signs on to FirstNet, regional conferences planned - The Commonwealth of Virginia, in partnership with First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) and AT&T, is hosting the Virginia Public Safety Broadband Network/FirstNet Regional Conference series. This series of seven conferences will seek to educate first responders, emergency managers, state and local government officials, and private sector partners on the FirstNet and AT&T partnership; the Virginia State Plan; and the various devices, technologies, and applications available for use within FirstNet. You can shape EMS Agenda 2050 - The EMS Agenda 2050 team will host four public meetings throughout the U.S. where attendees will meet and discuss the future of EMS with the project's Technical Expert Panel, a group of 10 individuals with wide-ranging and diverse experiences within EMS systems and healthcare organizations. The closest meeting is Silver Spring, Maryland on September 25, 2017. More info...
