Change 2 to the 2010 Hampton Roads Mass Casualty Incident Response Guide

The 2010 Hampton Roads Mass Casualty Incident Response Guide is intended as the primary reference and guide for use by EMS Agencies operating within the Peninsulas EMS Council and Tidewater EMS Council regions when responding to a multiple or mass casualty incident. This document is designed as an "all hazards" guide and addresses techniques in field operations that must be employed during a multiple or mass casualty incident.

Change 2 to the 2010 Hampton Roads Mass Casualty Incident Response Guide was released on September 30, 2011.  The document will NOT be reprinted. It is up to individual EMS Agencies and organizations to incorporate changes into existing copies of the document, or to reprint the document in its entirety.  The Hampton Roads Mass Casualty Incident Response Guide with Change 2 (September 2011) is available in electronic format upon request.

Available Now! The 2011 Hampton Roads MCI Response Pocket Guides

An abbreviated version of the Hampton Roads Mass Casualty Incident Response Guide is published as the Hampton Roads Mass Casualty Incident Response Pocket Guide. The cover of the 2011 version of the MCI Pocket guide is bright yellow in color. This version replaces the 2007 version of the pocket guide with the bright green cover.

Distribution: EMS Agencies in the Tidewater & Peninsulas EMS Council regions will be supplied with one copy of the pocket guide per licensed EMS vehicle.  Check your ambulance, zone car or apparatus. Commonwealth of Virginia Triage Tag Order Form

The state has a contract with Columbia Business Forms in Columbia, South Carolina for the official Commonwealth of Virginia Tag. The state contract number, the vendor's contact information, billing and shipping information can be found on the Triage Tag Request Form. Download the Triage Tag Request Form and submit the form with your order.

Virginia Mass Casualty Incident Management - Module I (Awareness Level) courses are available FREE of charge to:

  • EMS Agencies
  • Agencies/Organizations sponsoring First Responder & EMT Training Courses
  • Fire Departments (both career & volunteer)
  • Hospitals
  • Law Enforcement Agencies (Police, Sheriff, Dept. of Corrections, Virginia State Police, etc.)
  • Citizens Emergency Response Teams (CERT)
  • Medical Reserve Corps Units (MRCs)
  • Other Health Care Organizations
  • Other Community Organizations (Boy & Girl Scouts, etc.)

All of the previously schedule courses for calendar year 2011 have been completed. Please check back with us in December for the 2012 course schedule.
