Virginia EMS Advisory Board Appointments and Election Results

Kent J. Weber, TEMS Treasurer, was reappointed by Governor Mark Warner to the Virginia EMS Advisory Board to represent the Tidewater EMS region for another three-year term beginning July 1, 2003.  David B. Palmer, Assistant Chief of Norfolk Fire-Rescue and TEMS board member, was reappointed to represent the Virginia Association of Governmental EMS Administrators.  Others from the Tidewater region continuing service on the board include Stewart Martin, MD, Theresa Guins, MD, and Genemarie McGee, RNScott R. Chandler ended his two-term maximum board service and received a plaque of appreciation from the board.

FY04 officers elected by the state EMS Advisory Board from this region include David Palmer, Chair and Stewart Martin, MD, Second Vice Chair. Standing committee chairs from this region that were elected include Theresa Guins, MD (EMS for Children), Kent Weber (System Finance, Legislation and Planning), Genemarie McGee (Medevac), Stewart Martin, MD (Medical Direction), and David Palmer (Professional Development). The System Finance, Legislation and Planning committee is new, and the Professional Development committee is a rename of the Human Resources and Training Committee. A new structure with 18 committees was initiated following approval of revised bylaws.
