Smithson is New Regional Field Coordinator
(September, 2002) Matthew B. Smithson has returned to the Tidewater EMS Council staff
as full time Regional
Field Coordinator. He will concentrate on quality improvement programs,
the drug and IV box system, mass casualty training and preparation, MMRS
and CISM. He will staff the Resource Committee, Trauma Triage QI
Committee and CISM Team, and will assist with several MMRS committees.
Matt was previously the Operation Heartbeat Coordinator with the
American Heart Association (Virginia Beach office) and part time Field
Coordinator for TEMS. Prior to that, Matt was a hospital corpsman with
the US Navy where he served as the Tidewater Navy EMS Coordinator. We
are pleased and excited to have Matt on staff. He began work on

Todd Nolen will continue as Regional Field Coordinator II, working part time on database and web management, public information and promotion programs, and grant assistance and grading. He will continue to staff the EMS Promotions and Recognition Committee and serve as lead editor for Response newsletter and manager for the council's website. Email Todd.
