There is a typographical error for the dosage of Dopamine in the Emergency Medications section of the EMS Field Guide—ALS Version, and Emergency & Critical Care Pocket Guide. The error affects only the 50 kg patient receiving a 15 µg/kg/minute dose. The error would cause this patient to receive the full dose of dopamine, rather than 3/4's of the full dose, as intended. All other doses for dopamine are correct in the Guides. [InforMed’s other pocket guides, the Fire & Rescue Field Guide,™ and the EMS Field Guide—BLS Version™ do not contain a dopamine chart, and are not affected.]
PLEASE NOTE: All Guides sold by InforMed after November 12, 1998 have been repaired with the correct dose.
In order to repair the error, we would like to send you an adhesive label with the revised dopamine chart. Please place this label over the chart in your book (Page 40 for the EMS Field Guide—ALS Version; Page 78 for the Emergency & Critical Care Pocket Guide).
If you need additional labels, or if you have colleagues who need labels to correct their books, please call, write, fax, or email us and we will promptly send you the number of labels you need.
