Bereavement Booklet Is Available for EMS

The trauma and anguish experienced by families and individuals when they lose a loved one is in every case overwhelming. Many of the decisions concerning arrangements and processes can become an additional burden, which people are not always prepared to face.

In an effort to provide timely and accurate information for those facing such a dilemma, the bereavement booklet "A Guide for Families in Grief" has been published by the Tidewater EMS Council. Copies of this newly printed text were distributed to local EMS agencies for distribution by their ambulance crews when responding to situations where a loved one has been lost. The 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" booklet is sized to fit in a glove box or ambulance cabinet.

The booklet was published in a similar style and contains a much of the information found in the booklet used by the Sentara Health Systems. We thank Sentara for use of the material. This publication was made possible by the generous financial support of several of our local hospitals.

If you need further information or additional booklets, contact the TEMS office.
