New OEMS Program Rep: Wayne Berry

Wayne Berry recently joined the Office of EMS staff as the Program Representative for Southeast Virginia. This area includes all of the jurisdictions in the Tidewater and the Peninsulas EMS Councils. Wayne is responsible for conducting inspections of EMS agencies and vehicles, evaluating grant applications, investigating complaints, providing technical assistance to EMS personnel, local governments and regional councils.

Wayne has been active in the EMS community for over 30 years and recently retired from the Newport News Fire Department as an EMS Captain. He currently is an EMT instructor as well as an ITLS Regional Faculty Member. Mr. Berry also holds a BLS and ALS Regional Faculty position with the American Heart Association. Wayne is also a National Registered Paramedic.
