Dear Healthcare Community,
The Tidewater Emergency Medical Services Council takes great pleasure in announcing that we have selected Stephanie M. Hackett to serve as the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Response System (HRMMRS) Program Coordinator.
Prior to accepting this position, Stephanie had served as the HRMMRS Program Support Specialist for the past 11 years. Because of her efforts in grants management and procurement, the Hampton Roads region has benefited greatly in preparedness, response, and recovery for incidents that produce mass casualties. Throughout her tenure with HRMMRS, Stephanie has maintained the readiness of unique resources located throughout the region by processing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, receiving orders, and distributing orders. These specially built assets provide standardized capabilities of consumable medical supplies and durable medical equipment that enhance the region’s ability to respond to mass casualty incidents.
Additionally, she supports the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Strike Team (HRMMST) by processing applications, conducting orientation classes, and outfitting new members with uniforms and personal protective equipment. Stephanie serves as a Planning Specialist on the Strike Team. Stephanie also works closely with regional Public Health Departments, hospitals, and hazardous materials teams to oversee the HRMMRS program’s pharmaceutical stockpiles of nerve agent antidotes, antibiotics, and hazardous materials antidotes.
Stephanie earned a Master’s of Business Administration with an emphasis in Public Administration from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Old Dominion University. Also noteworthy, she has completed the Emergency Management Basic Leadership Academy and is currently attending the Emergency Management Advanced Leadership Academy at the Emergency Management Institute.
Stephanie has two daughters and is committed to supporting their activity in the Girl Scouts and softball; in fact, she serves as the “Team Mom.” She also loves her chocolate lab Jager. Stephanie enjoys DIY projects, reading mystery novels, and anything to do with the beach.
I hope you will join the TEMS Board of Directors in welcoming Stephanie to our organization! Her official start date was January 16, 2019.
